V.&Me

Me: “Lets talk about sex..”

V: “No!” and she shuts the door.

Countless time we’ve had this same argument. After all this time I already expect her to check out when I need her the most. She has shut me out to the extend that I sometimes don’t even know who she is anymore.

V.&Me is specialised confidence coaching for women who are or have been challenged by vaginismus.

What is V.&Me?

V.&Me is specialised coaching for women who have or had vaginismus and who want to regain their self esteem and (re)build their confidence.

Through either group coaching or one to one sessions you will spend time getting to know yourself & V on a deeper level, strengthening your mindset and create a stronger connection with yourself to step towards your goals.

the V.&Me Group Coaching programme

During group coaching 4 coachees will come together for 8 x 2 hour sessions, to connect and step towards the changes they would like to make in relation to themselves & vaginismus.

For 3-4 months we will dive deeper into your individual challenges, hopes and goals, and "tackle" them through proactive coaching exercises, creativity and powerful connections both body & mind.

Audrey’s sessions have allowed me to unlock my mind and see myself in a completely different light. I now have all the tools to complete my journey and overcome my vaginismus.

What did others say about V.&me?

I would fully recommend this course to anyone with a history of vaginismus. Audrey is professional, containing and comes to each session very well organised and prepared with fantastic resources. The group became a really safe place for me to share, explore my thoughts and work towards my goals. With the group’s support I moved onto a bigger dilator and then started being able to have intercourse with my partner- something I didn’t feel was ever possible. However, what I’ve learnt from the group is that with or without PIV I am sensual, empowered and confident and my worth and sexuality go well beyond PIV!

When I signed up to Audrey’s coaching I was in a very emotional place, at the end of my tether after trying to deal with (and brush under the carpet) my vaginismus for 12 years. I had never spoken to anyone about it and it felt like a huge deal to me. It had come to a head as I had started thinking about having children in the near future, and I thought it would be a major barrier, but didn’t know what to do about it.

Talking to Audrey and the friends I have made through the coaching has made me accept my vaginismus as part of me, and I no longer feel ashamed or embarrassed about it. This has helped me feel more confident in all aspects of my life, and I finally feel liberated and like a ‘real adult’ when my mindset had been making me feel like a fraud for so long. I feel empowered to ask for help with vaginismus and try new ways to try to overcome it.

It’s been a few months since I finished the V&Me coaching programme and I’m still feeling the benefits! The more I keep drawing on it as time passes, the more I realise how much the programme has genuinely changed me and given me ways to heal I wasn’t sure I’d find before. In the last few weeks, I hit a major trigger of my vaginismus. I sat and waited for the inevitable panic, but it didn’t happen! I found all the new pathways of thinking we worked on (and my trusty V&Me journal), stayed calm, and took ownership back over my body. I’m still in contact with my cohort and their support and positivity is amazing, I’m so grateful to have met them and made three such wonderful friends! Looking back, I barely recognise the person who signed up for the course. I am so much more confident and healthy now and I know myself, care for myself, trust myself, and appreciate myself in a way I didn’t realise I could. V&Me is way more than just a temporary boost, it’s made a difference in me that has let me move forward, bounce back from hard days, and be excited about going on a journey with my body. Massive love to Audrey and my new V&Me community!”

The course was great for encouraging confidence and openness about what I’d hidden from friends and family before. Having the support of women going through the same thing, at different places on their journeys, cannot be underestimated. Audrey offers something unique and complementary to any medicalised therapies, that left me feeling strong, appreciative of how far I’ve come, and better able to move forward in hope.

This programme has helped me enormously on my journey to tackling vaginismus. Each part of the programme has enabled me to get to know both my body and my mind better and I now feel that I am in a really secure place to move forward with my vaginismus journey sustainably. Embarking on the programme alongside three others has been really positive for my mindset surrounding vaginismus and Audrey is fantastic at creating a safe and supportive environment in sessions. Audrey is a wonderful coach who is understanding and encouraging on every step of the journey. I highly recommend Audrey and the V & me programme .... it has changed my relationship to vaginismus for the better and I cannot wait to embark on the next step of my journey!

I was quite nervous at the beginning of this whole process as I didn’t know what to expect however I need not have been as Audrey put us all totally at ease and meeting my fellow coachees was an amazing experience. The things I learned during the eight sessions have been invaluable and I now have the tools to not only work on dealing with my vaginismus but also on my confidence in life in general. Since finishing the course I have been able to face some of my fears head on which is all thanks to Audrey and the amazingly strong women I have met along the way.

Audrey and her programme were absolutely fantastic. I wasn’t sure what kind of help I was looking for to help me deal with, learn about and resolve (?) my vaginismus. I came across her programme and signed up immediately - it was easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Audrey tailors each session to a theme. The three other girls on the pilot were absolutely amazing, so inspiring and incredibly supportive. I found the eight sessions to be such an important safe space to truly delve into vaginismus and to face it head on. Audrey guided me to understand the mind-body connection and has given me the confidence to both work more on the dilating and also talk about it more with other women.

I have to admit I was quite sceptical about the programme. I’ve never done any coaching before and was unsure how much it would help me however this programme has been worth its weight in gold! I feel like it’s completely changed my perspective on vaginismus and has really boosted my confidence. Before this programme I was saying really hurtful things to myself and my self-esteem was rock bottom. By completing the coaching, I was able to work through this and address it head on. I feel like I’ve improved so many areas of my life over these past three months, not just vaginismus related and my confidence is at an all time high. I feel a lot more positive about the future and have made so much progress over the past few months with Audrey!

I have found the coaching has completely transformed my view on myself and vaginismus. Audrey is amazing at helping you to tap into yourself and to get a better understanding of how and why you think like you do. I have met a lovely group of girls which has made me feel much less alone in relation to my vaginismus and I know now that I have an amazing support network behind me. I highly recommended the group coaching for anyone who is looking for a fresh and friendly approach!

I have found the coaching so valuable. I really enjoyed the exercises in between sessions, I think these kept me going and helped me to progress between the sessions. I liked having the catch ups with others as well, it made me feel less alone and it opened up the conversation more about our experiences of vaginismus. Audrey was very supportive and encouraged me to open up, share my feelings and challenge my negative thoughts.

And the coaching hasn’t just helped me with my vaginismus journey. It has overall made me a confident person, I am kinder to myself and I no longer see myself as broken. Which shows how far I’ve come in 8 sessions of this coaching and I couldn’t be more grateful to Audrey. For anyone who wants to get more confident with vaginismus and themselves, I 100000% recommend this coaching programme. Thank you so much Audrey.

V and Me Coaching has transformed the way I approach vaginismus and other areas of my life. I’ve learned how to be less affected by the negative voice in my head and to find my confident self and take her by the hand. Audrey created a safe space where I could be be honest and share my fears and vulnerabilities with other amazing women going through similar experiences. Audrey’s approach is caring, fun and wise and I felt fully supported throughout the sessions. With my confident self leading the way and Audrey’s coaching and insights, I can now see a kinder path to managing and working through my vaginismus.

Podcast: V.&Me -VAginismus let’s name it not shame it

The V.&Me Podcast came to exist when the first 4 brave V.&Me warriors were happy to share their stories with the world. Since then the podcast has grown with more stories of vaginismus warriors and professionals, who share their personal stories, knowledge and findings about everything related to our V.

(You can listen here or find the podcast on most platforms)

who is V?

The best way to describe V; hard to read, sometime a bit uptight and doesn’t easily let anyone in.

For years V has felt misunderstood, especially when people, like Me, didn’t understand why she closed the door on them.

Honestly, V she is my vagina, not yours. But as the letter V can be used for all the vaginas out there I will lend it to you…for now that is, as I hope you will be joining ‘V.&Me’ so you will get to know and name your own.

Who is Me?

‘Me’ is You…I know that sounds a bit confusing.

As a Coach they say that the ideal clients is yourself, so after my own vaginismus journey I would love to support women like myself. So you.

You could be at the end of your treatment or you might just have found out what vaginismus is.

‘Me’ is you who wants to (re)build their confidence and self-esteem, who want to create more self awareness and build a strong mind body connection in a positive way.

Vaginismus

Every time I try to explain the word Vaginismus to people I feel I look straight in the eyes of confusion. At first most people think I said something different, then there is a realisation that I’m talking about vaginas, and while they are trying to understand what I’m saying, their uncomfortable face might turn into curiosity. So for those who have never heard of vaginismus let’s google and normalise the word:

Vagina(-a) + ismus

  • Vagina - the passage in the body of a woman or female animal between the outer sex organs and the womb.

  • ismus - customarily used to imply spasm, contraction.

The description of the NHS is “when the vagina suddenly tightens up just as you try to insert something into it. It can be painful and distressing, but it can be treated.

Vaginismus is much more than the word itself. It’s our body, our mind, our consciousness, our sexuality and more. We all bring our personal story.

We grow up learning so much more about the male anatomy than the female anatomy and although sex sells we still have a hush hush mentality to discuss potential issues or complications that might limit us in enjoying our bodies in full. Unfortunately this has it’s consequences as we all know what happens when we leave things unspoken.

So let’s start talking, connecting and bring V back into the room.
